Total Quality Management

TQM is one of the most misunderstood and misapplied methodologies in America. Many organizations think they have succeeded when they have team meetings and charts on the walls. Unfortunately, they often have few real improvements to show for their efforts. In most cases, the difference between success and failure is seldom in the principles, but in their applications. When "We're doing everything right," and it still isn't working, something has to change, and it's usually something we can control.

If you are not satisfied with the results of your present TQM efforts, or if you are wondering how you can become more competitive in your market, we can help. We can provide the spark which ignites your efforts with the enthusiasm that will make a difference.

When properly trained and coached, cross-functional teams often improve processes more effectively than professional consultants. Best of all, these teams learn the methods and form the valuable habits of continuously improving their processes, so improvements can continue.

Drawing from the works of pioneers like Deming, Juran, Crosby, Ishikawa, Taguchi, and others, Bourque Associates International helps you select and implement the most relevant applications for your business. Our Management Consultant Services include:

Assessments
Situational analysis
Trouble-shooting
Program planning
Specialized solutions development and implementation
Full or partial implementation

Just-In-Time / Cycle Time Reduction

Compare usDrawing upon the many works of Schonberger as well as Stalk & Hout's Competing Against Time and others, we use proven techniques to reduce inventory, whether it's WIP on the factory floor or paper and forms in an administrative or financial process. It's incredible how much can often be achieved for a relatively small investment. Producing more quickly is usually less expensive and far more satisfying to customers.

Process Reengineering

Sometimes an entirely new process is required to become more competitive. If the existing process worked flawlessly, would it satisfy, or better still impress customers? If the answer is No, a new process is required.

We can help you develop a new process from scratch or even help incorporate existing process modules that may be competitive. Perhaps it is not the entire process, which needs to be replaced. In any case, we can help analyze the process to determine what stays and what goes.

The new competitive buzzword is value, and customers want as much value for as little cost as possible. Only processes, which are free from non-value adding work and engineered to complete necessary work as efficiently as possible, can meet this goal.

See Training Programs, Seminars & Workshops for a more expanded description of our Process Reengineering approach.
